Marley was Dead and is lying in state is a simple, but elegant coffin, of the time. Scrooge standing over the coffin is there to sign the death certificate and pay his respects to his partner. A last minute decision to pinch a few tuppins, Scrooge reaches over to remove the coins covering Marleys eyes. All components of the creation are made by the sculpting artist, Ken Fedoruk and woodcrafting artist Joan Fedoruk. The sculpture features a green satin lined oak coffin with ornate emblems bearing Marley's name. A credence table with a candle, Certificate of Death, ink bottle and feather quill. The platform bring the whole story together; wet footprints on the floorboards, the opening paragraph of A Christmas Carol  laser burned into the platforms wooden edges and has a built-in rotating carousel for ease of viewing.
